This book, The Universe in a Nutshell by Stephen Hawking, shows the theories of the universe and explains many things that may have been unclear, or confusing. Professor Hawking does his best to answers many questions that have been asked to the scientific community while putting his opinion in where he can so that it won?t affect the scientific evidence.
This book was chosen for a science project having to do with the factors of scientific literacy. The project itself wasn?t hard, but reading this book was. Being written by the brilliant mind of Stephen Hawking, getting through the book was difficult but very rewarding. It was only difficult at times because of the many concepts that needed to be grasped. But he made understanding these concepts, theories and principles easier by including examples and pictures. This gave the reader a visual explanation of what Professor Hawking was trying to say.
I thought the book was very well written. It had the right balance of explanations, facts and visual aid. I feel that this made the book more understandable and readable. It enables adults, and even high school students, to learn and understand the universe and what lies in it. You don?t have to be a scientist to understand this book, which is really good. All in all, it?s a good book.
