Clinton Ober started as a cable TV salesman in Billings, Montana, and rose to become a leader in the industry. In the early 1970s, he formed Telecrafter Corporation and built it into the largest provider of cable marketing and installation services in the United States. In the 1980s, he partnered with McGraw-Hill to acquire live-feed distribution rights for computer use from news services around the world.
