Lebendige Vergangenheit's second release devoted to Marian Anderson includes German and Austrian music from the Romantic and post-Romantic periods. The recordings were made in 1947 and 1951 and are of varying sound quality, but none are scratchy or hissy enough to make them unlistenable, and a less than ideal recording is more than compensated for by Anderson's remarkable performances.
