This is actually one of the best books that I've read in a really long time. I was sad when I approached the end (which was great)! Isabel Allende is truly a gifted writter.

Isabel Allende is doing what she does so well, creating fleshed -out characters in historic eras. Her knowledge of the history, people and politics during the time of her novels rings true. She writes a good yarn.
