Herreweghe is mostly known for historical-instrument performances, and his transparent textures here bear the mark of the authentic-performance movement. But there's nothing historically oriented about the Royal Flemish Philharmonic, and really what Herreweghe contributes in the Symphony No. 4 in B flat major, Op. 60, and Symphony No. 7 in A major, Op. 92, is a set of fresh ears.
